Gazing Postures
These paintings rely on the information taken from photographs,a source through which we expect to receive an objective and stable view of external reality.I manipulate perspective to understand how the camera can distort the appearance of physical weight and proportions of the body.The distortions of the camera skew appearances even more so than does the human eye.Bodies appear disproportional.Weight becomes oddly redistributed.
